About the 'Friends'
The Friends of the Cape to Cape Track Inc. was formed in 1998 to assist Parks and Wildlife Services to maintain and develop the Track. It is a not-for-profit community group. At the AGM held each August a Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, Treasurer, Secretary, Adoptee Coordinator and committee members are elected. This committee meets regularly throughout the year to organise Group Walks, infrastructure upgrades, track realignment and to liaise closely with DBCA Services. The "Friends" is an active and enthusiastic group and have been pivotal in developing the Track from pre-1998 conditions to what is now a well used iconic long distance track which is widely recognized.

Group Walks
An important function provided by the Friends is the organising and conduct of Group Walks. These are invariably pleasant and popular and one is planned for every month with the exception of the three hot summer months (Dec. Jan. Feb) Participants park their cars where the walk finishes. They are transported, as a (by bus) to the start of the walk and then walk back to their cars.
Adoptees Program
One very valuable function of the Friends has been the development of a Track Maintenance Program, where-by members (individuals, groups, families) elect to 'adopt' a section of track. They carry out basic maintenance such as light pruning, replacing posts and markers, minor erosion control, bush rehabilitation and litter collection. They also watch out for, and report any major problems that may occur. Anyone interested in becoming an Adoptee should contact Adoptee Manager.
Donations
If you have enjoyed a walk on any sections of the Cape to Cape Track, you might consider donating to the Friends of the Cape to Cape Track All the work done along the track by the Friends of the Cape to Cape Track is done on a volunteer basis. However, we need to purchase equipment such as cordless whipper-snippers and hedge-trimmers. The 'Friends' also contribute to some capital works programs such as board-walks and steps.
